What is an AR number?
A 4-digit number that tells you the general area where something is on a map.
What does a GR number indicate?
A 6-digit number that gives the exact location of something on a map.
What are contour lines?
Lines on a map that join places with the same height above sea level.
What do contour lines show?
The shape of the land, like hills and valleys.
What are intervals in mapping?
The height difference between two contour lines.
What does spot height represent on a map?
A dot on a map with a number next to it showing the exact height of that point above sea level.
What is aspect in geography?
The direction a slope or hillside faces, such as north, south, east, or west.
What does relief refer to?
The shape of the land, including how high or low it is, and whether it’s flat or hilly.
What does scale indicate on a map?
How map distances compare to real-life distances.
What is a synoptic chart?
A weather map that shows things like rain, wind, and pressure to help understand the weather.

A chart that shows a place’s average temperature and rainfall over a year, using bars and a line.

A graph that shows how many people there are in different age groups, split by male and female.
