Geometry Terms Flashcards
(15 cards)
An angle with a degree measure less than 90.
Acute angle
Point that lie in the same line
Collinear
The length of the segment between two points
Distance (between two points)
A set of points common to two or more geometric figures
Intersection
The point on a segment exactly halfway between the endpoints of the segment
Midpoint
A convex polygon in which all of the sides are congruent and all of the angles are congruent
Regular polygon
Two angles with measures that have a sum of 180.
Supplementary angles
Two angles that lie in the same plane, have a common vertex and a common side, but no common interior points
Adjacent angles
Two angles with measures that have a sum of 90.
Complementary angles
A polygon with all congruent angles
Equiangular polygon
A basic undefined term of geometry. A line is made up of points and has no thickness or width. In a figure, a line is shown with an arrowhead at each end. Lines are usually named by lowercase script letters or by writing capital letters for two points on the line, with a double arrow over the pair of letters
Line
An angle with degree measure greater than 90 and less than 180.
Obtuse angle
A basic undefined term of geometry. It is a location. In a figure, they are represented by a dot. They are named by capital letters.
Point
An angle with a degree measure of 90.
Right angle
A directed segment representing a quantity that has both magnitude, or length, and direction.
