‘Get him,Lennie’
Steinbeck uses a personification to portray Lennie as a dog which further displays the animalistic imagery throughout the play and he doesn’t move until George his ‘owner’ tells him to.
Pulled the trigger
He did this to shield Lennie from any further suffering which Curley and the ranchers would have slowly tortured him. An audience of this time in the Great Depression wouldn’t have understood their relationship and thought he did this for his own benefit as it was a capitalist society everyone only cared about themselves because of the shortage of jobs.
