Which case is used for the subject of a sentence?
Nominativ (The subject, who or what is doing the action).
Which case answers ‘Wen oder was?’ (Who or what is being acted upon)?
Akkusativ (The direct object, who or what is being acted upon).
Which case answers ‘Wem?’ (To whom or for whom)?
Dativ (The indirect object, to whom or for whom something is given).
Which case answers ‘Wessen?’ (Whose)?
Genitiv (Shows possession, ‘Whose?’).
Identify the case: ‘Der Hund schläft.’
Nominativ → ‘Der Hund’ is the subject.
Identify the case: ‘Ich sehe den Mann.’
Akkusativ → ‘den Mann’ is the direct object (affected by ‘sehen’).
