police could search houses, ban meetings without trial
death penalty accepted in some crimes
concentration camps set up like Dachau

A

nazi got 288 seats 44% good but not majourity
Hitler formed coalition with centre party - promising to protect cath church

Labour services workers used to build 1936 olympic stadium - “instil discipline and value into work”

Trade unions banned, replaces by this
Led by Dr Robert Ley
aimed to “ensure efficient running of industry work” but actually used to control wages and enforce hard work
“Strength through joy” - sports competitions, theatre tickets for hard workers
“beauty of labour” - improved work conditions and encouraged employers to provide canteens + leisure facilities
