Describe functions of lateral and craniocaudal folding
A
Lateral - creates ventral body wall and primative gut becomes tubular
Craniocaudal - creates cranial caudal pockets form yolk sac endoderm creating a blind ended tube.

What features does the endoderm and visceral mesoderm produce?
A
Endoderm forms the epithelial lining and gives rise to specific cells (parenchyma) of each gland.
Visceral mesoderm forms the stroma, muscles, CT and peritoneal components of the GI tract.
