explain why these is a need to manage for housing management
1st) Glasgow - old tennements that have already been converted into apartments still require costly maintanence and improvments
2nd) ageing population - old marriages and single parent families mean houses have become more unaffordable in the city
3rd) meaning the average house price is 4 to 5 times higher than the average earnings - too expensive
4th) young proffessionals struggle to buy houses due to there rising cost and spiralling rental cost
5th) increased capacity at glasgows three universities mean higher demand in student accommodation
6th) many landlords as well try to cut corners by not investing in them properly so housing qaulity declines
7th) high-rise flats with flat roofs are unsuitable for scottish climates leading to a build up of rainwater => mould and illness
8th) Elderly/families on high floors feeling more isolated especially when the lifts fail due to vandalism
9th) Pheriphal council estates still lack needs of shops, services and churchs
10) House far from the CBD making getting a job hard, and for workers travel costs increase.
