A system was developed by the World Bank and uses
a country’s Gross National Income (GNI) per capita, or average income, to classify countries into one of the three main groups
uses average incomes for each country and therefore does not acknowledge the variations that are experienced within any one country or between two countries in the same group
Gross National Income (GNI)
the total value of goods and services a country’s citizens produce, including the value if income earner by citizens who mat be working in an overseas country
Gross Domestic Products (GDP)
a measure that reflects the economic state of a country; the value of all goods and services produced in a country in a 12 month period
