Affinity Diagramming
Data Sorting technique in which a group categorizes and subcategorize data until relationships are clearly drawn
Analytical Processing
Application that can analyze data faster and in more ways than traditional and relational data bases, offering a multi-dimensional analysis of business data.
Assests
Financial, physical and sometimes intangible properties an organization owns.
Balance Sheet
Statement of an organizations financial positions at specific point in time, showing assets, liabilities, and shareholder equity.
Balanced Scorecard
Performance management tool that depicts an organizations overall performance, as measured against goals, lagging indicators, and leading indicators.
Business Case
Presentation to management that established that a specific problem exits and argues for a proposed solution
Civil Law
Legal system based on written codes (laws, rules or regulations)
Code of Conduct
Principles that guide decision making and behavior in an organization
Common Law
Legal system in which each case is considered in terms of how it relates to legal decision that have already been made, evolves through judicial decisions over time.
Covering
Defensive behavior that occurs when an organization recruits a diverse workforce but, consciously or otherwise, promotes assimilation rather inclusion.
Cultural Intelligence
Capacity to recognize, interpret, and behaviorally adapt to multicultural situations and contexts.
Cultural Taxation
Additional workload that is generated for members of an under-presented group due to their request participation in DE&I efforts. Ex: the extra work faculty and staff of color take on by being the ethnic representation
Delphi Technique
Technique that progressively collects information from a group of anonymous respondents. Ex:The experts in question answer the questionnaire anonymously and are then confronted with each other’s knowledge and views. They do not know each other and do not know who else is in the panel of experts.
Stakeholder
is anyone whose work or experience is affected by the potential outcome of a chance initiative- including employees, managers, vendors, and customers.
SWOT Anyalysis
Brainstorm strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats and agree on a numerical value for each
SOAR Analysis
identify strengths, opportunities, aspirations, and results. This is fact finding, an analysis of the organizations actual state and how it will measure achievement
MCDA (Multi-criteria decision analysis
used to score each alternative and compare results. determine critical characteristics of a successful decision.
Force-field analysis
tool used to analyze the forces favoring and opposing a particular change
Legacy Diversity
traits that are easily recognizable & visible, such as external physical characteristics
Experimental Diversity
based on living/lived experiences
Inclusion
The extent to which each person in an organization feels welcomes, respected, supported, and valued.
Equity
The goal is to life all employees up, to attempt to break down demographic barriers and challenges.
