Q

How are we to understand the following verses? Who is the God that David is speaking of? What is concluded from these verses?

2 Samuel 23:1-3
[1]Now these be the last words of David. David the son of Jesse said, and the man who was raised up on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said,
[2]The Spirit of the LORD spake by me, and his word was in my tongue.
[3]The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.

A

In verse (2) David is stating that it was the Spirit of God who inspired him on what to write in Psalms. The Spirit had his own ‘words’ that he placed on the tongue of David. For a Spirit to teach, instruct, and become an author of a book tells you he has cognition, he is a person. Later in verse (3) he says the God of Israel spoke to him. The conclusion is that the Spirit of the Lord and the God of Israel are one in the same.

Nehemiah 9:20
[20]Thou gavest also thy good spirit to instruct them, and withheldest not thy manna from their mouth, and gavest them water for their thirst.

[2]The Spirit of the LORD spake by me, and his word was in my tongue.

Nehemiah 9:30
[30]Yet many years didst thou forbear them, and testifiedst against them by thy spirit in thy prophets: yet would they not give ear: therefore gavest thou them into the hand of the people of the lands.

Ezekiel 3:24
[24]Then the spirit entered into me, and set me upon my feet, and spake with me, and said unto me, Go, shut thyself within thine house.

Ezekiel 11:5
[5]And the Spirit of the LORD fell upon me, and said unto me, Speak; Thus saith the LORD; Thus have ye said, O house of Israel: for I know the things that come into your mind, every one of them.

[7]O thou that art named the house of Jacob, is the spirit of the LORD straitened? are these his doings? do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly?

Isaiah 63:10
[10]But they rebelled, and vexed his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and he fought against them.

Q

What attributes are being demonstrated by the Holy Spirit in these verses?

Ezekiel 36:25-27
[25]Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.
[26]A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
[27]And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

Psalms 139:7-11
[7]Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?
[8]If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.
[9]If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;
[10]Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.
[11]If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.

A

The Holy Spirit is showing attributes of being Omnipotent and omnipresent. In Ezekiel he is shown as being present with everyone and in Psalms David is showing he is present in all of creation from heaven to hell.

Q

What is the common theme or ability of the Holy Spirit in the following verses?

Ezekiel 37:12-14
[12]Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.
[13]And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves,
[14]And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the LORD have spoken it, and performed it, saith the LORD.

Psalms 104:29-30
[29]Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled: thou takest away their breath, they die, and return to their dust.
[30]Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth.

Q

What is being conveyed about the Holy Spirit in these verses?

Isaiah 40:13-14
[13]Who hath directed the Spirit of the LORD, or being his counsellor hath taught him?
[14]With whom took he counsel, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of judgment, and taught him knowledge, and shewed to him the way of understanding?

A

The Holy Spirit or the Spirit of the Lord cannot be taught, guided, or counseled about anything because by nature he is all knowing, infinite wise, and omniscient.

Q

What are we to conclude from these two verses? Who is the Spirit?

(The Lord is speaking to Moses…)
Exodus 33:14-15
[14]And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.
[15]And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence.

(Isaiah is recalling the Exodus event with Moses…)
Isaiah 63:14
[14]As a beast goeth down into the valley, the Spirit of the LORD caused him to rest: so didst thou lead thy people, to make thyself a glorious name.

Matthew 11:28 (Jesus speaking)
[28]Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

A

The Lord and the Spirit of the Lord are two entities that are one in the same. He states, “My presence shall go…” when he could’ve said “I will go with thee…” This shows that his presence is something separate yet still God at the same time.

Q

What works can the Spirit do according to the book of Job?

Job 27:3
[3]All the while my breath is in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils;

Job 26:13
[13]By his spirit he hath garnished the heavens; his hand hath formed the crooked serpent.

Job 33:4
[4]The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.

Job 34:14-15
[14]If he set his heart upon man, if he gather unto himself his spirit and his breath;
[15]All flesh shall perish together, and man shall turn again unto dust.

Psalms 104:29-30
[29]Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled: thou takest away their breath, they die, and return to their dust.
[30]Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth.

Job 32:8
[8]But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.

Job 32:8
[8]But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.

A

The Spirit is the one who formed the heavens, gives us breath to live, and is responsible for our inspirations and understandings.

What is being conveyed about the Holy Spirit in these verses?

Isaiah 32:14-15
[14]Because the palaces shall be forsaken; the multitude of the city shall be left; the forts and towers shall be for dens for ever, a joy of wild asses, a pasture of flocks;
[15]Until the spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness be a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a forest.

Isaiah 44:3
[3]For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring:

A

The Spirit is able to replenish. Here it’s showing how the Spirit has the ability to transform a desert into a fruitful field.

Isaiah 59:19-21
[19]So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.
[20]And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the LORD.
[21]As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the LORD; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed’s seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever.

Q

Why in verse (26) God says, “in our image” (plural) then later in verse (27) it’s said man was made in his “own” (singular) image?

Genesis 1:26-27
[26]And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
[27]So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

A

To show that God is a community of one with each member as equal God. This is also exemplified in the following verse with the creation of the male and female (plural) first being referred to as “him” (singular, or known as just Adam).

Q

Who is God talking to??

Genesis 1:26
[26]And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Cross references:

Genesis 1:2
[2]And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

Genesis 2:2,4-7
[2]And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
[4]These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,
[5]And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.
[6]But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.
[7]And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

A

His Spirit, his breath.

What can we conclude when cross referencing these verses?

Genesis 1:2,26
[2]And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
[26]And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Genesis 2:7
[7]And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Job 33:4
[4]The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.

A

That the Lord and his Spirit which is his breath, two entities as one God is what breathe soul and life into man. In Hebrew parallelism for Job 33:4, “the breathe” corresponds to “The Spirit”, “ of the Almighty” corresponds to “of God”, and “hath given me life” corresponds to “hath made me”.

Q

What can be concluded when cross referencing these passages?
In Genesis 6:3, what is the meaning of “My spirit shall not always strive with man for that he also is flesh” and “yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years”?

Genesis 6:3,17
[3]And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
[17]And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.
Genesis 7:15,22
[15]And they went in unto Noah into the ark, two and two of all flesh, wherein is the breath of life.
[22]All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died.

A

The meaning of “My spirit shall not always strive with man for that he also is flesh” is that because he is flesh a man dies because the Spirit leaves his body. The Spirit is the cause and sustainer of life.

“Yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years” is referring to the time left before the great flood.

When cross referencing these verses what is concluded is that where the Breathe of Life is present is life, where the Breathe of Life is absent is death which is also true for animals as well.

Q

How is the term ‘person’ used in respect to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit? How is it defined?

A

The term ‘person’ used for God is not like how it applies to humans limited to place, time, and space. He is not a bodily creation. God does have awareness, cognition, can speak and be spoken to, has emotions, has his own will and can love like us but on a scale infinitely greater than ours.

17
Q

According to these verses, what personal traits is the Holy Spirit able to do?

How personification defined and is this an example of it?

John 15:26-27
[26]But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:
[27]And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.

Acts 5:32
[32]And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.

A

According to these verses the Holy Spirit is able to bear witness and testify.

Personification is defined as the application personal attributes or human characteristics on to something that is nonhuman.

This cannot be an example of personification because here the Spirit of truth/Holy Ghost is being included with other animate beings such as the Father and the Apostles who bore witness to the Son. This shows the the Holy Spirit to also be a person.

18
Q

According to these verses, what is revealed about the Holy Spirit?

Acts 5:3-4
[3]But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?
[4]Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.

Acts 5:9
[9]Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out.

Ephesians 4:30
[30]And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

A

The Holy Spirit can be lied to, tempted, and grieved like other people. This further shows the personal traits of the Holy Spirit.

19
Q

What is being revealed about the Holy Spirit in these verses?

Acts 15:28-29
[28]For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;
[29]That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.

Romans 8:26-27
[26]Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
[27]And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

A

That the Holy Spirit has a rational mind of discernment and intellect like a person similar to the Apostles to be able to judge what is good and to make intercession.

20
Q

What is being revealed about the Holy Spirit in these verses?

1 Corinthians 12:7-14
[7]But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
[8]For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
[9]To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;
[10]To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
[11]But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.
[12]For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.
[13]For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
[14]For the body is not one member, but many.

A

For one Spirit to be able to give all these various gifts to every member in the body of Christ by his own will shows he is omnipresent, omniscient, and omnipotent. These attributes are only held by God.

21
Q

What is being revealed about the Holy Spirit in these verses?

1 Corinthians 2:9-13
[9]But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
[10]But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
[11]For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
[12]Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
[13]Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

Romans 11:33-36
[33]O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!
[34]For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?
[35]Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?
[36]For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.

A

Not only is the Holy Spirit able to fathom and understand the deep things of God, He is also able to teach those things to us so we may understand within our capacities.

22
Q

What is being revealed about the Holy Spirit in these verses?

Acts 10:19-21
[19]While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee.
[20]Arise therefore, and get thee down, and go with them, doubting nothing: for I have sent them.
[21]Then Peter went down to the men which were sent unto him from Cornelius; and said, Behold, I am he whom ye seek: what is the cause wherefore ye are come?

Acts 13:1-4
[1]Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.
[2]As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.
[3]And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.
[4]So they, being sent forth by the Holy Ghost, departed unto Seleucia; and from thence they sailed to Cyprus.

A

The Holy Spirit is able to speak, command, seperate, appoints, order, and guide.

23
Q

What is the common theme about the Holy Spirit in these verses?

Acts 21:10-11
[10]And as we tarried there many days, there came down from Judaea a certain prophet, named Agabus.
[11]And when he was come unto us, he took Paul’s girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.

Acts 11:26-29
[26]And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.
[27]And in these days came prophets from Jerusalem unto Antioch.
[28]And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit that there should be great dearth throughout all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius Caesar.
[29]Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judaea:

1 Timothy 4:1-5
[1]Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
[2]Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
[3]Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
[4]For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
[5]For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

A

The Holy Spirit is able to prophetise. Later in Acts through chapters 23 we see these things happening to Paul.

24
Q

What is being revealed about the Holy Spirit in these verses?

Acts 16:6-7
[6]Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia,
[7]After they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit suffered them not.

A

The Holy Spirit is the one who commands, inspires, appoints, and sends out as missionaries.

25
When cross referencing these verses from the book of Isaiah and Acts, 1) Who did Isaiah see sitting in the throne? 2) Who spoke to Isaiah in Isaiah 6:9? 3) What is the implicit conclusion? Isaiah 6:1-5,8-10 [1]In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple. [2]Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly. [3]And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory. [4]And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke. [5]Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts. [8]Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me. [9]And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not. [10]Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed. Acts 28:25-27 [25]And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after that Paul had spoken one word, Well spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet unto our fathers, [26]Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive: [27]For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
Isaiah saw the Lord sitting upon a throne and according to Acts Isaiah dialogued with The Holy Ghost. The conclusion is that The Holy Ghost is the Lord.
26
When cross referencing these verses from the book of Jeremiah and Hebrew, 1) Who is speaking in Jeremiah? 2) What is the implicit conclusion? 3) What type of acts is the one who is speaking able to do? Jeremiah 31:31,33-34 [31]Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: [33]But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. [34]And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. Hebrews 10:15-17 [15]Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, [16]This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; [17]And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
The person speaking in Jeremiah is the LORD but according to Hebrews the person speaking is the Holy Ghost. The conclusion is that the Holy Ghost is the LORD, not the Father nor the Son yet One with them. Additionally, this also means that the Holy Spirit is also able to forgive sins, He can put laws into the hearts of people, and He can bear witness.
27
When cross referencing these passages, what abilities are revealed about the Holy Spirit? Genesis 2:7 [7]And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Matthew 1:18-20 [18]Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. [19]Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily. [20]But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. Luke 1:26-27,34-35 [26]And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, [27]To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary. [34]Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? [35]And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
The Holy Spirit is also the creator of biological life in union with the Father and the Son. John 5:25,28-29 [25]Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. [28]Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, [29]And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. John 11:25-26 [25]Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: [26]And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? John 10:27-30 [27]My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: [28]And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. [29]My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. [30]I and my Father are one.

What is the conclusion when cross referencing these passages? What attributes are being revealed? Exodus 4:11-12,15 [11]And the LORD said unto him, Who hath made man's mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD? [12]Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say. [15]And thou shalt speak unto him, and put words in his mouth: and I will be with thy mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what ye shall do. Matthew 10:19-20 [19]But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak. [20]For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you. Mark 13:11 [11]But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost. Luke 21:14-15. (Jesus speaking) [14]Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer: [15]For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.
The Holy Spirit and Jesus are both able to do the same things. But to be able to reach out to all believers and speak through them at any time anywhere are attributes of being Omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient. The conclusion is that both the Holy Spirit who is of the Father (Matthew 10:20) and Jesus are all equally LORD.
