Autocracy
One person has all the power (example dictatorship or monarchy)

A king or queen inherits their power and position through their family line

Where citizens elect (vote for, or choose) lawmakers to represent their interests in the government

U.S. citizens vote on representatives to make laws and decisions for the country, according to the rules laid out in the U.S. constitution

How does an presidential democracy work?
People directly vote for the president and the legislature. The legislature makes laws and president approves or denies the laws
How does a parliamentary democracy work?
People only vote for the legislature (who represents them in government). The political party with the most seats (power) then chooses one person to be the Prime Minister.
Totalitarian
One political party is in power, and people are forced to do what the government tells them.
