What are the six models of the mystery of the Church?
Institution, Mystical Communion, Sacrament, Herald, Servant, Community of disciples.
Model of Church’s Mystery: The Church is organized in a hierarchy under the Guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Institution
Model of Church’s Mystery: We are united, especially in the Eucharist. Nourished by the Body of Christ, we become the Body of Christ.
Mystical Communion
Model of Church’s Mystery: An outward sign that indicated an inward grace. An encounter with Christ.
Sacrament
Model of Church’s Mystery: A messenger of Christ. Sent by Christ, the Church continues to announce the good news of Christ’s teaching.
Herald
Model of Church’s Mystery: Love for Jesus and for others leads us to serve- by healing, comforting, feeding, welcoming, and forgiving. We promote the well-being of all, especially the poor.
Servant
Model of Church’s Mystery: Jesus was a leader who called others to be his followers. Jesus is our one true leader and we are united in our following of him.
Community of Disciples
Rules that guide all aspects of Church life.
