What is a dependent variable?
The part of the experiment that changes based on the independent variable
What is data?
The information you collect
What is an observation?
What you see, hear, or notice
What is a conclusion?
What you learned from the experiment
What is measurement?
Finding size, length, or amount with a tool
What is photosynthesis?
How plants make food using sunlight, water, and air
What is a predator?
An animal that hunts other animals
What is prey?
An animal that gets hunted
What is a habitat?
Where a plant or animal lives
What is an organism?
Any living thing
What is germination?
When a seed starts to grow
What is a food chain?
Order in which organisms in an ecosystem depend on each other for food/energy (all food chains start with the sun: sun→grass→rabbit→fox)
What is a food web?
Group of food chains within an ecosystem
What is a producer?
Organism that makes its own food (plants)
What is a consumer?
Organism that gets its energy from eating other organisms
What is a decomposer?
Bacteria and other organisms that cause decay, they are important because they add nutrients to the soil
What is erosion?
Movement of soil or rocks by water or wind
What is weathering?
Breaking rocks into smaller pieces
What is an orbit?
The path one object takes around another
What is condensation?
Gas turning into liquid
What is a fossil?
Remains of plants or animals from long ago
