- Organizations

A

Start a program
- The most comprehensive and difficult to get
Supplement an existing program
- Add diversity, additional dx, enlarge the area
Purchase equipment for a program

How do you go about getting a grant?

A

Competitive process
Know the criteria
- Varies from grant to grant
- Know what the Grantor is giving the money for
> Don’t apply if it doesn’t fit
Let everyone know what you are doing
Follow directions in the RFP (request for proposals)
Proof read, proof read and get several people to proof read!
- Use terminology similar to the that in the RFP

A

One page
Signed by highest person, even if that person is not doing the actual grant
- You might be writing the grant, but have your administrator sign the cover letter

Broad, not a step by stem
Usually about 2 pages

Theoretical foundation (more evidence)
Goals (may be addressed in another area)
Implementation plan (may be in another area)
Timeline (maybe in another area or document alone)
Evaluation plan (may be separate document)
Dissemination plan
- Who will you report too at the end
