How does the narrator describe Gatsby?
Narrator describes Gatsby as Rich, Independent and high class person who is also a big dreamer. He is in love with Daisy (narrator’s cousin) and throws party to impress and meet her.
From where did the narrator come and why?
The narrator, Nick, graduated from Yale and came to East Egg to start his own business.
Describe the narrator’s house.
He describes his house to be less fashionable compared to Gatsby’s house and looking at the house, you can conclude that Nick’s family is rich but isn’t as rich as Gatsby

There house was a very nice house and had windows designed by French architects and it looked like a class, old style French palace

How is Gatsby introduced into the novel?
Gatsby is introduced as a wealthy yet a little mysterious. He hosts parties but no one sees him at his own parties.
What is the valley of ashes?
It’s about halfway between West Egg and New York. It’s a farm where ashes grow like wheat into ridges and hills and grotesque gardens.

It’s above the grey land and the spasms of bleak dust. It’s blue and gigantic.

Myrtle, the girl he was having an affair with
