The ruler of the Titans was Cronus who was dethroned by his son Zeus

Before Medusa was known as a terrifying monster, she was a beautiful maiden who was very kind and pious.
Medusa was the daughter of Phorcys and Ceto

Such a sacrilege attracted the goddess’ wrath, and she punished Medusa by turning her hair to snakes and whoever looks her in the eye turns to stone

Percy put an invisible hat on her so he couldn’t look her in the eye and cut her head off

The contest between athena and arachne

Before The rules of the contest were simple: each woman would weave a tapestry, and Zeus, king of the gods, would act as the judge

If Arachne won, Athena would never weave again.

And if Athena won, Arachne would never spin or touch a loom for the rest of her life

Arachne boosted that she had a greater talent than goddess Athena herself
Athena turned arachne into a spider because this was an offense towards the gods, which was a very serious and even deadly sin for the ancient Greeks

Hermes - his birth, inventions, tricks

A

Hermes was the son of the Greek god Zeus and the mountain nymph Maia

Maia gave birth to Hermes in a mountain cave and then fell asleep exhausted

As well as the tortoise shell lyre (harp) he gave to Apollo, Greek god Hermes also created the first ever set of pan pipes, or syrinx, which became the instrument of shepherds

Hermes was a trickster since his first day of life when he stole Apollo’s sacred cows, and then sacrificed two of them to the gods

Orpheus and eurydice

A

Orpheus joined the expedition of the Argonauts, saving them from the music of the Sirens by playing his own, more powerful music

On his return, he married Eurydice, who was soon killed by a snakebite

Overcome with grief, Orpheus ventured himself to the land of the dead to attempt to bring Eurydice back to life
