Number given to an initiated member of a Greek Letter Organization. Done by alphabetical order
Chapter
Campus group of a national organization
GDI
Student not affiliated with a Greek Letter Organization, “Gosh Darn Independent”
Hazing
Harassment, forcing of unwanted activities in order to be accepted
House
Where all the sisters live
Inactive
Member who has not yet graduated and is not currently enrolled in an academic program or who has not paid dues
Legacy
Family member was previously in the sorority
Patron
A protector, benefactor. Sponsors and supports some person, activity, etc … The three graces (Splendour, Good Cheer, Mirth)
Pledge (New Member)
Person who has been given a bid and has declared intention to become an initiated member
Sister
Initiated member of a sorority or women’s fraternity
