Group Dynamics
consists of two or more people; an interaction is done; shares goals and there’s members in it.
Types of Groups
Formal and Informal
Formal
has a task, command; more likely to be structured (ex. business)
Informal
shares some interest; deeper connection, intimate (ex. ros or mobile legends)
GROUP STRUCTURES
Group norms & characteristics, roles, status, cohesiveness
Group Norms
is set of feelings and attitudes that also has standards.
Norms Characteristics
a characteristics of the group that is predicting and controlling behavior of the members
Groups Roles
diverse parts that the members have and this consists of 2 role Identity- role perception- expected to behave according to his own perception. role expectation- a behavior should be done in a given situation
Group Status
defined as a position or rank
Group Cohesiveness
a cohesion that is divided into (2) which is Social that is Informal or Task that is Formal and has goals.

Balance Theory & Exchange Theory

there’s a similar attitude
Exchange Theory
there’s a benefit with each other (ex. tutorials)
Stages of Formation
Forming, Storming, Norming, Performing, Adjourning
Forming
the group is just starting to be formed, predominating. there’s an assumed leadership role
Storming
“testing out” phase, there’s a lot of disagreement, it is also uncomfortable phase of the group’s life.
Norming
there’s an identity; mini-conflicts happens
Performing
stable, there’s no problem with the attitude anymore
Adjourning
Completion; they achieved their goals.
