When a baby is born it is very immature. It’s reproductive system is not capable of reproducing and the first part of an animals life is spent growing.

Eventually the newborn baby becomes sexually mature. This means it can reproduce sex cells (gametes) and reproduce. Humans become sexually mature puberty, which happens when we are teenagers.
