DRAMATIC TECHNIQUES

A

Before Shylock speaks the stage direction (aside) is written by Shakespeare - show the idea of dramatic irony how we know something that the rest of the characters don’t.
Shylock says “I will feed fat the ancient grudge bear him.” The personification of the grudge shows it as if it would eat and feed off of Antonio
stage direction “ exits launcelot” before Jessica speaks shows her by herself talking to the audience shows a soliloquy.
