Q

Why does the oxygen dissociation curve shift to the right in chronic anaemia? (3)

A
  1. lack of haemoglobin leads to a reduced ability to carry oxygen in the blood.
  2. results in raised levels of 2,3-diphosphoglycerate within red blood cells
