Left without food and water-> frequent power cuts-> hospitals couldnt help-> people moved imto tents and temporary shelters-> choler spread since people were drinking dirty water

Over 2 million haitians were left without food and water. There were frequent power cuts. This produced difficulties for hospitals to help people. Which caused people to move into tents and temporary shelters. Disease like cholera spread like wildfife since people were drinking dirty water

A

Haiti has only 1 main port and it was damaged in the earthquake. The rescue teams were delayed and water and food had taken days to arrive.

The country of Haiti was not prepared for the devastating 7.0 earthquake that struck its capital city

-built on slopes without proper foundations
-insufficient steel
-improper building practices

A

Upon the event of the earthquake, the polic force collapsed. As a result , this ignited looting and stealijg from abandoned buildings and people.
Government buildings had collpased making it harder for the government to recover and control haitis situation

A

The earthquake struck the capital, Port au prince, the most densely packed area resulting in hundreds of thousands of deaths. This caused massive displacement of people and chaos spread.
