A

Hemolysis- breakdown of red blood cells. Broken red blood cells dye plasma pink/red and will have an inaccurate reading. Dispose in sharps and retake.

Air bubbles- Air bubbles cause inaccurate hematocrit readings, dispose in sharps and retake.

A

Leakage- Can be from not resting full 30 secs or the tube contained too much air. Dispose in sharps and retake. Inspect for blood.

A

Lipemia- Fat cells suspended in blood sample. Cloudy/Milky plasma. Refer to leadership to see if they need to be deferred.
