Check trailer brake (THERMOSTAT)

A woodsy trail leads to thermostat.

A

“I will now test the trailer brake.”

Release the parking brake.
Clutch in.
Switch to a low gear.
Slowly release clutch until cab moves, push clutch back in.

“Trailer brake tested successfully.”

Switch back to neutral.
Release clutch.

Check parking brake (KITTY ROOM DOOR)

“I will now test the parking brake.”

Set parking brake.
Release trailer brake.
Clutch in.
Switch to a low gear.
Slowly release the clutch until cab moves, push the clutch back in.

“Parking brake tested successfully.”

Switch back to neutral.
Release clutch.

Service brakes (DEN DOOR)

A huge counter service bell for ringing on den door.

A

Release parking brake.

“I will now test the service brake by rolling forward a few feet with my hands off the steering wheel, then depress service brake. Truck should not pull to either side when service brake is applied.“

Clutch in.
Switch to low gear.
Slowly release clutch until truck begins to roll. Re-apply clutch.
Engage service brake.

“Truck did not pull to either side when service brake was applied. Service brake successfully tested.”

Switch to neutral.
Release service brake.
Release clutch.

Exit (MASTER BEDROOM DOOR)

Huge green, flashing exit sign above master bedroom door.

Set parking brakes.
Turn steering wheel all the way left.
Turn off vehicle.
Shut off headlights.
Pull hood release.
Exit vehicle making three points of contact.

“I am exiting the vehicle making three points of contact.”
