When you can hear two or more musical notes at the same time

Positive / happy
How does a minor chord sound?
Sad / serious
How does a discord sound?
Harsh / unpleasant - the notes clash

What is a triad?
A basic chord with 3 notes
What are the notes in a basic triad in root position?
1st, 3rd and 5th e.g. C in root position has the letters C, E and G becuase C is the 1st, D is the 2nd, E is the 3rd, F is the 4th and G is the 5th. We only use the 1st, 3rd and 5th notes.
What is it called when the order of the notes in a chord are changed?
Inversion
Why is it good to have a mixture of root and chords inversion?
It makes the change from one chord to the next flow better.
