Why is an oxymoron used in the first line of this poem?

The use of the oxymoron, “beloved sweetheart bastard” is used to emphasise he contradicting feelings and her negative/aggresive feelings being more dominant through the use of the curse ‘bastard’.

Describe the use of irony in the first stanza or Havisham.
A
Irony is used in this stanza when Miss.Havisham says she “prayed for it” meaning that she prays for the man that jilted her to be dead. This is ironic as usually people pray for something good, not for a sin to be made true.
