On the SDU, when a PI is initiated, the applicable car will be highlighted in red and a PI banner will appear showing the location of the activated PI

When the driver answers the PI, the CCTV image will display on the SDU

• Level 3 alert on HMI (initially)

  • CCTV :
    The image of the activated DER in the affected saloon will automatically be displayed on the SDU

The car will illuminate red with an emergency egress device (EED) icon and Banner

If multiple internal DER’s are activated at the same time, the first one will appear as in pic below and any other will be placed in a queue. The DER that is queuing will appear as a red icon

A

The TMS is the brains of the train

It performs many tasks autonomously monitoring the key train systems and alerting the driver to failures in train performance. It also performs a range of driver lead self testing during a train prep.

A

It is used during train Preps

It allows the driver to initiate certain tests during the preps, as well as view relevant information, such as whether a test has passed or failed

(similar to a roadworthy certificate)

A

Standard configuration

Where do each of those screens transfer to?

A

Manually switch the screens to continue

The SDU will transfer to the back up screen.

The HMI would be displayed on the SDU screen and the SDU transfers to the back up screen

What happens if the DMI screen fails

A

It will automatically transfer to the TMS, and the full back screen will still retain the ability to present alarms to the driver in all situations

A

For drivers to be able to view platforms for when performing platform, departure sequence, Releasing the doors on the platform and other functions
