What is a tension headache?
Dull, aching headaches, bilateral head, face or neck
What is cluster headaches?
Sudden sharp severe headaches, unilateral, usually around eyes
Paroxysmal hemicrania?
Adulthood headaches with severe sharp pain over unilaterally face and behind eyes.
What are trigeminal autonomic cephalalgias (TACs)?
headaches group.
unilaterality of pain,
Short lasting symptoms
associated ipsilateral (same side) cranial autonomic symptoms, such as lacrimation, and nasal congestion.
What is Horners Syndrome?
Horner syndrome
- relatively rare disorder
- constricted pupil (miosis),
- drooping of the upper eyelid (ptosis), -
-absence of sweating of the face (anhidrosis),
- sinking of the eyeball into the bony cavity that protects the eye (enophthalmos).
Women with migrane aura - what medications if contraindicated ?
COCP.
Preventative medications in migrane prevention?
Propranolol
Topiramate
Amitryptyline
Amitryptyline or gabapentin for migraine?
Amitryptyline - for migrane prevetion.
Riboflavin.
NOTE: Gabapentin is NOT for mirgrane Rx.
What is another word for Riboflavin?
Vit B2
