A

Heparin induced thrombocytopenia
Toxicity
Epidural or spinal hematoma
Hemorrhage

Nursing care for heparin

A

Assess platelets levels
Stop if platelets are less than normal
Assess VS for bleeding and assess for bleeding loss
Monitor aPTT for 1.5 to 2 times the baseline
Stop heparin if bleeding happens
Assess for neuro changes
