Destroyed them to distance himself from all of the unliked policies

1515 - The Hunne Case and 1523 for greater taxation
How did Henry consolidate?
Appealing to the nobles, jousting and hunting with them, grew up with them

1526 - Wolsey rearranged the size and style of government, an example of Wolsey using power for his own gain
What religion was Thomas Cromwell?
Protestant, he would pardon traitors and accept bribes to try and influence Protestant ideas
What did Cromwell do in 1536?
Dissolved the smaller monasteries, gave the Crown lots of money, larger ones in 1539
Which wife did Cromwell arrange for Henry?
Anne of Cleves from Germany
Why did the marriage to Anne of Cleves a failure?
She was Protestant and Henry called her ugly, seen as a huge embarrassment to England

Principal Secretary, held this for 7 years
What changes did Cromwell do to government?
Created the Court of Augmentations and Court of Fruits and Tenths. this centralized Crown’s finance

Heresy and treason, Acts of Attainder used to execute him
