they granted immortalit and were symbolic of his ascention into divine god life after finishing the tasks

they differ from his usual portayal,he is shown to be resting after fighting the lion, which shows him not to be an indestructable warrior but a flawed and brave mortal, encouraging the subjects to adapt the mindset
the emphasis is on humaniaty and endurance
he begins the taks sclean shaven and ends bearded which shows the physical toll it had on him
as well as the emphasis on humanity as athena is helping him hold the heavens with one hand while he (a human) is putting all of his strength into the task

he is seen as a dual character, both strong and invincible but also very human, he shows the best of those on earth but also the limitations of mortals
