The hermeneutic Circle:

A
  • Our understanding of the work must invovle an ancipitation of the whole that informs f view of the parts while simuntanuesly beeing modiefied by them (eg: we have asociations as soon as something is in the form of a Stanza)
    • We can understand the present only in the context of the past, and vice versa

- Gaps open up between the schematized views, which makes room for free play for the readers imganination
- These indeterminacies are considered produktive and estaically what is needed to revoke a response to a literary text 
- Activate implied readers: appeal structure of the text 

Interpretation = relation between text and reader which is activated through indeterminacies.
