Progressive Revelation
Theological concept that God does reveal himself and his truth progressively over time.
Lord is peeling back the curtain.
A view that God’s knowledge is not revealed all at once but it is unfolded through time.
Ex: OT he gave understanding to people through prophecies. Then you see them unfold. Isais 61 he says he was anointed, then in Luke it is being fulfilled before your eyes.
Covenant
A vow or promise between God and his people.
outlined with specific terms and conditions for both parties. There will be consequences if you break it.
A binding relationship is characterized by a deep personal commitment.
Establishes a personal relationship between God and humanity.

Unilateral covenant
a binding covenant only on one side. It was God who made this with Abraham
Tangible promises
You can see it and touch it,
God’s agreement with humanity that can be concrete in a practical way.
These practical ways are healing, provision, guidance, and spiritual growth.
Allegory
A story poem or picture that will reveal a hidden meaning that has a moral.
Synonym: parable
Dispensation
Divinely ordained time for a specific period of history.
Tells how God dealt with humanity during these times.
