Who was Mike Mountain Horse and why was he significant?
He was a Canadian who decided to fight because his brother died to gas attacks in 1915. He fought in the Battle of Vimy Bridge and the Battle of Cambrai. He was strongly affected by post battle effects like shell shock.

Who was Walter Tull and why was he significant?
He was initially a football player, born in Folkestone, Kent. He was signed up to the Footballer's Battalion which was created so people who looked up to footballers would follow them into fighting in the war. He was the first ever black officer to lead white soldiers which emphasises the extreme racism at the time. He was killed in an attack across no mans land

The stretch of land between 2 trenches which was often empty.

What was the Blitz?
A bombing campaign over England by Germany which was between 7 Sep 1940 - 11 May 1941. There were constant bombings with incendiaries and high explosives to cause as much damage as possible.

Why was South East England in extreme danger during the Blitz?
The Germans approached England from the South East, which meant the chance of a bomb landing there was much higher than in most other places.
