1. More lives would have been lost anywaY: Japan would have been invaded and deaths would be a lot of long and gruesome, the war had also been raging for 5 years and US did everyone a favour
2. Japan had plenty of warnings to surrender: US and other countries had given japan warnings to surrender, japan thought death was preferable than to surrender (which means US bombing them was ok because japan was never gonna surrender)
