A

Although Wingina’s attack was beaten off by the first expedition, it lead to a crisis in the Colony, forcing them to abandon the Colony of Roanoke.

It is possible the second expedition was wiped out by an Indian attack led by Chief Powhatan. Alternatively, an attack may have resulted in settlers becoming slaves or joining the local Indian Tribes.
