What was the Domesday book
It was made in 1086-87 and was a book that counted everything in England - people, buildings, animals, and land. It was not popular by the English but gave the Normans knowledge and could tell who was wealthy and or dangerous

The Feudal System
Feudal - Latin word for Land. William used Land to control and feed his people. William gave land to the barons & bishops, they gave land to Knights. Knights gave land to peasants. Peasants had to give food and loyalty to those above them.

Olde English that the Anglo-Saxons was gradually changes as the Normans spoke French and over time their words became part of our modern English as they married and had children. Words such as Beff and Pork are french.
