History Term 1 landscapes and landforms Flashcards

1
Q

What is Biophysical landsapes?

A

Theses landscapes unaffected by humans meaning it is not man made. The biophysical environment is made up of four parts: the atmosphere, hydrosphere, lithosphere and biosphere.

Q

What is deposition?

A

When little bits of sand and rock travel and add to make landforms. Basically transferring little bits of sand and rock to another mountain or landscape.

Q

What is Mechanical weathering?

A

the process of big rocks breking into little rocks. Some examples are frost, ice, plants roots, running water and hreat from the sun

16
Q

How are mountains formed?

A

tectonic plates having nowhere to grow and get pushed upwards and over a long, long time form a mountain

17
Q

What is the lithosphere?

A

the earths surface
