A
- Had epilepsy from a young age, following an accident
- Had this hippocampus removed bilaterally (on both sides of the brain)

what type of memory could he no longer make
A
He couldn’t make new LTM (episodic or semantic)- Hippocampus is for making
new long-term memories
* Could access old LTM- LTM stored other places in the brain than the
Hippocampus

- Could still use STM e.g., keeping things in mind through maintenance rehearsal
– this suggests that STM and LTM are separate systems - Could make procedural memories e.g., mirror drawing task- This suggests that
there are different types of LTM
