should i check/raise or fold after the second player bets?

A

should have folded, because there is two diamonds, i only have one, and the A on the board, means there is going to be multiple bets, and you only have 2 cards (J/J) that could have one this hand. bad play by meto check before being forced to fold

how did i play this hand

A

after the flop, i should have raised him and collected (most likely easy money, or find out if he has anything like flush draw) as he had less big blinds than me, and i put myself in unnecessary danger when the QD came up (he might have connected). I got lucky the straight came on the river

what should i have done differently

A

after player 1 raised pre flop, i should have raised him back as i have high cards and he had less big blines

then, I should have realized he was value betting. I had nothing on the flop, so his 10 bets are sucking me dry. I should have got out of the hand if he called me on a re raise pre flop and hit nothing on the flop. I was over estimating high cards and there was chasing a 9 (only 4 in the deck!!!) also the JC on the river, could have got me in trouble and it put a flush on the board which player 1 might have hit. Terrible play on this hand

Q

if you land an open ended straight on the flop, and you get raised, what do you do?

A

First, you are only going to bet once because there is only 8 cards that can connect

Second, check if there is a flush draw on the table

Third, the most you should bet is 4 BB, anything more, FOLD! This is the RULE
one bet to see the river, 4 BB MAX!

how did i play this hand, what should i have done?

A

First, biggest mistake was calling 20 with AD/3S recipe for disaster

Second, why raising with nothing, and after he called on when i raised him on the flop, i should have stopped and did not realize he was trapping me, allowing me to put money into the pot. the first raise on the flop that got called should have told me, that he has me beat most likely.

Last and most importantly, I did not look at how many BB he has (27.60) so there was absolutely NO point trying to bluff him as he would call me down on anything at all. HUGE mistake

Terribly played hand at every single step

YOU MUST LOOK AT HOW MANY BB THE PLAYER YOU ARE PLAYING AGAINST HAS BEFORE ATTEMPTING ANYTHING!!!!!!
