What is the holophrastic stage?
A
> Where a child converts a whole sentence worth of meaning in one word

A
> Compressing a string of words into a single utterance e.g. “wassat?” as the child is not able to segment

> A single word expressing a whole idea - declarative, interrogative etc..

> A word is used more broadly to describe things with similar properties

> A word is used in a limited way which does not recognise the full meaning e.g. knowing the world “banana” but not a plural bunch, only singular
