unlawful causing death of another human (inc. murder, voluntary & involuntary manslaughter)

not homicide if lawful i.e. police killing terrorist

D’s act must cause (factual + legal causation) death (when brain stem has died)

babies only protected once independent existence from mother. Sustain injury in womb, born & die = murder
