where are hot deserts found?
mostly found in a belt between approximately 30 degrees north and 30 degrees south of the equator

primary characteristic is its dryness

why do deserts have really low rainfall?
high atmospheric pressure
sinking air prevents the formation of clouds and rain

deserts get low amounts of rainfall so plants like cacti have adapted

over grazing
demand for fuelwood
these all result in soil erosion
water management in that desert
collecting rainwater

helps crops to grow without overusing lots of water
