Describe the selection process

A
  1. Screening/shortlisting: who meets the job specification
  2. Interviewing: meet or hear the applicant. Do they fit the selection criteria and the culture of the organisation
  3. Background check of the applicant: contact the applicants referees. Could also require the applicant to undertake psychological testing or medical examinations?
  4. Advising applicants of the outcome: the successful applicant should be notified. Unsuccessful applicants should also be notified of the outcome

What is induction?
process of familiarizing staff with the organisation and its environment e.g. producers & policies, staffroom, bathroom, evacuation assembly area

What is the aim of training?
To seek long-term change in employee's skills, knowledge, attitudes in order to improve work performance

Intrinsic awards
come from the task or job itself such as recognition or feedback
