What HSCB section CRIMES qualify for Major Case Protocol

A

Any homicide in the tourist corridor, any homicide involving a child, and homicides involving two or more victims.

Stranger sexual assaults or part of sexual assault series.

Missing person case with child or adult deemed missing/endangered under suspicious circumstances.

Crimes of violence where a suspect poses a substantial threat to the public if not immediately identified and apprehended.

Response to STRANGER SEXUAL ASSUALT

A
  • Have patrol transport victim to UMC for SANE EXAM
  • SA Detective respond to UMC to review options with victim and complete interview
  • SA Detective respond to scene to start canvasing / locate video
  • SA Detective interview any witnesses
  • Start canvas for suspect (If UBER/LYFT obtain emergency records via search warrant)
  • Utilize fusion watch to do work ups on suspect
  • If vehicle involved / vehicle is scene place LPR hit as well as felony hit on vehicle
  • Locate suspect, Search Warrant for suspects DNA
  • Interview suspect
  • DFL suspects phone for GPS and or additional information / photos
  • Process all scenes, persons vehicles rooms etc, obtain SW for any applicable (Penile, clothing, bedding etc)
  • Involve victim advocate
  • Oversee Search warrants to ensure proper execution
  • Prepare to present case in Sex Assault Review Team
