Q
Why might a government try to increase a country’s population?
A
If the country has an ageing population; so there aren’t many people in the workforce, shrinking workforce, which reduces the country’s economy (Japan)
The country could be underpopulated; so there are extra resources for the population which don’t get used and so are wasted, so efficiency is minimised. (Australia)
