Describes when the body starts to become sexually mature (normally happens between 10-15)

Sex hormones (testoterone) are released causing voice to deepen! Hair to grow around sex organs, face, chest and underarms, the testes and penis grow bigger and produce sperm

Hormones (oestrogen and progesterone) are released the breasts develop, hips widen, and hair begins to grow on the body

Is another name for sexual intercourse

Occurs when the fertilised egg lodges itself on the lining of the uterus

Egg and sperm fuse to form a single cell

Division of the zygote occurs and it grows
Foetus
After 8 weeks looks like a human
Pregnancy
Average length of human pregnancy is 40 weeks
Amniotic fluid
As the embryo develops in the uterus it is protected inside a bag of fluid called amniotic fluid
This fluid provides a cushion for embryo, this bursts during delivery of baby “waters breaking”
