A

Belief that all are made in image of god’s and should be treated with agape- unconditional love
This is a selfless love and is the foundation of Christian social teaching
Because all life has dignity they believe in equality taking a stand against injustice
Long tradition of christian individuals working to promote equality, human rights and social justice-often at risk to their own lives. Illustrated in the Good Samaritan and in Jesus teaching to love thy neighbour

A

Jesus helped liberate people from oppression and economic and social justice. Originated in South America and Jesus is portrayed as a freedom fighter and a revolutionary
Key idea is that god wants Christian’s to try and change unjust situations and is with them in their suffering

A few weeks after Romero was appointed as archbishop his friend and a priest Father Rutilio Grande was murdered since he was living along landless peasants in poverty and speaking out on their behalf
Romero immediately reacted against the corrupt rulers of the country speaking out against them and the injustices of the poor in his country
Thousands came to his sermons and were broadcast every Sunday on the radio. He was regarded as the spokesperson for truth and justice for the people of El Salvador

Superiority-their view and belief is the ultimate and their cause the greatest to the extent that others can be demeaned and dehumanised for their failure to see the truth
