  1. artifical tears, sunglasses, annual eye exam
  2. Post-op unexpected outcome laryngeal edema
  • tracheostomy kit
  • O2 and suction
  • Ca gluconate

check for bleeding

check airway

keep drainage devices compressed and empty

Watch out for Hypocalcemia

monitor Trousseau/Chyostek (because of the removal of the parathyroid)

monitor Ca+ level
