Definition of breakpoint

A

Highest concentration of drug that can be safely achieved in patient

if MIC is below breakpoint, drug is safe to use.
If MIC is above breakpoint, drug is not safe (can cause side effect). Microbe cannot be inhibited by normal safe dosages
